State Senator Greg Reed (R-Jasper), President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate, today announces the awarding $128,000 in funding for infrastructure and services projects in Walker County through Cawaco RC&D.
“Providing resources for infrastructure and services that bolster our local communities is a huge priority,” said Senator Greg Reed. “I am thankful to Cawaco RC&D and their continued efforts to help people and communities in our area. These funds will go to communities across Walker County, and I am excited to see the meaningful difference they will make for people in our local area.”
The following are a list of recipients of infrastructure and services grant funding in Walker County:
· Copeland Fire Rescue
· Curry High School
· Oakman High School
· Parrish Volunteer Fire Department
· Saragossa Volunteer Fire Department
· Town of Kansas
· Town of Parrish
· Walker County Commission
· Walker County School District
Cawaco RC&D is a nonprofit organization that connects Central Alabama communities to have resources and partnerships needed to drive economic development. They are dedicated to the conservation, development, and sustained use of natural and community resources in Blount, Chilton, Shelby, Jefferson, and Walker Counties. They receive funds from the Alabama Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils to provide competitive grants to small towns and nonprofits.
